Consultancy PLMR has won a six-month contract representing the “A Fair Tax on Flying” campaign. The campaign calls for a reduction in air passenger duty, which it says is the highest in the world. Its members include airport operators, travel associations and airlines.
The “A Fair Tax on Flying” argues that UK passengers pay 400 per cent more than their counterparts in most other European countries. PLMR is reportedly set to highlight the impact the high level of duty has on families. Westminster Public Affairs previously held the business
The contract award follows PLMR’s successful work for the Bingo Association to secure a reduction in the duty paid on bingo in the budget earlier this year, with the ‘Boost Bingo’ campaign winning the PR Week ‘Best Public Affairs Campaign’ award.
The consultancy has also announced that it will be working with the marketing team of Sky Business “to raise awareness of Sky’s tailored multichannel TV and wi-fi connectivity packages in the care home and serviced apartments sectors”. PLMR’s appointment follows Sky Business plans to expand into the sector.
