Consultancy Political Lobbying and Media Relations (PLMR) won the Public Affairs Award at the 2014 PR Week awards on Tuesday at a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.
PLMR’s campaign for the Bingo Association ‘Boost Bingo’ sought to reduce the duty payable on bingo scooped the award after it delivered a 50% reduction in the tax, doubling the original target for the campaign.
The judges criteria for the award was to select “the most effective use of PR to change or enlist political or public opinion utilizing either lobbying or broader grassroots public affairs tactics including media and on-line relations”.
PLMR Deputy Managing Director, Elin Twigge said: “We’re absolutely delighted that the success of the Boost Bingo campaign was recognised against such stiff competition. It was an intense campaign but it was loads of fun and the result was everything we’d been aiming for and more.
This is the icing on the cake of a fantastic year for PLMR.”
