Landowners lobbyists The Westminster Property Association and City Property Association have appointed Charles Begley of TTA Property as their new executive director.
Begley, a former ITN news editor, is due to leave his current role as a senior partner with TTA Property, part of the Good Relations Group, in October.
The WPA represents a combined commercial property portfolio of over £40bn and lobbies on behalf of landowners, property developers and professional advisors, while the CPA has almost 200 members from a range of sectors involved in the City’s property industry.
Begley will shape the Association’s strategy in preparation for the 2015 General Election and the London Mayoral election in 2016, working alongside the Chairman of the WPA and its Board to represent members’ interests locally and nationally.
Begley replaces former executive director Jace Tyrrell, who will return to New West End Company as Deputy CEO in October.
Daniel Van Gelder, Chairman of the Westminster Property Association said: “Charles is ideally placed to build on the fantastic work Jace has done for the association and take the lead in our future strategy. His background in media and communications together with his knowledge of the property industry is a fantastic combination and we look forward to working with him.”
