The Generation Rent campaign has hired financial PR firm MRM on a public affairs focused brief to strengthen tenants’ rights. MRM recently launched a public affairs offering under former Financial Conduct Authority Senior Associate Havard Hughes.
Speaking on the appointment, Generation Rent director Alex Hilton said: “The affordability, security and conditions crisis in housing is driven by a basic market failure; a fact to which the political elite is wilfully blinkered. MRM’s understanding of the financial policy landscape is second to none, and we believe that we’ve found a partner who can help us get a fairer deal for those who rent.”
MRM head of public affairs Havard Hughes said: “Housing policy has risen inexorably to the top of political agenda and we are excited to be helping Generation Rent make a difference for tenants. The growing rental community faces a range of challenges made worse by the state of the present law. Government and the regulatory community needs to better understand the implications of their decisions for housing tenants.”
