Shane Brennan is leaving his post as public affairs director at the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) to become director of external affairs at the Country Land and Business Association.
Brennan had been at the ACS since 2002 and was made public affairs director in 2008. Edward Woodall, currently public affairs manager for the ACS, is to become head of policy and public affairs.
The ACS has also promoted Chris Noice to become head of communications and research.
The ACS represents more than 33,500 local shops with a membership from stand-alone family run independent stores to large multiple store businesses.
ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “It is great for ACS to be able to promote such talented and experienced people from within the existing team. Both have been a vital part of ACS’ success in recent years and I am sure we will go from strength to strength under their leadership”.
