Aberdeen-based energy services multinational Wood Group has hired Yvonne Harley to lead its communications and public affairs functions.
Wood Group earns around $7bn in sales, employing more than 40,000 people worldwide.
Harley’s responsibilities as group head of communications include setting the strategic direction for communications and public affairs.
Harley was previously in BP Group’s communications leadership team and is the former global head of communications for Castrol.
Commenting on her appointment, Harley said: “Open communications lead to shared knowledge and trust, key strengths of any successful business. I am delighted to help Wood Group to connect with all its audiences.”
Bob Keiller, chief executive officer of Wood Group, said: “Yvonne’s passion for straightforward communication is exciting. It is all too easy in business to send out messages that are mixed or confusing. I am looking forward to ours being clearer, crisper and more consistent.”
