Lionel Zetter FPRCA has been elected Chair of the PRCA Public Affairs Group following an election contest against Victoria Barton.
Zetter, Director at The European Azerbaijan Society and MD of Zetter’s Political Services, was selected by the industry over Victoria, Account Director at Ketchum.
Zetter has written three books on politics and public affairs and is is a former President of the CIPR. He stood on a manifesto promising to robustly defend the industry’s reputation, inclusivity and an increased number of events.
The news follows last week’s confirmation of the appointment of Burhan Al-Gailani, Account Director at Brands2Life, and Simon Pugh, Senior Account Director at Weber Shandwick, as the new Vice Chairs of the Public Affairs Group.
Zetter said: “It is a great honour to have been elected Chair of the PRCA Public Affairs Group. These are challenging times for the industry, and I look forward to working with members and the PRCA’s team to make sure that the PRCA plays its full part in shaping the evolving regulatory environment.”
Emily Wallace, outgoing PA Group Chair, said: “I know that Lionel will be a fantastic champion for the public affairs industry, I very much look forward to supporting him vociferously from the side-lines.”
